Description
These old Cedar stumps litter the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Quite often you find new trees growing out of the centers and are known as a “nursery stump”. Spring board notches note the time period when the cutters had to get high enough off the ground to cut above the giant flair at the bottom. Axes and crosscut saws were used by hand to fall these giants. Their wood was mostly used for cedar shingles for roofs and siding for buildings.
